The legal cell of Sambalpur University came into existence in the year, 2015. Dr. Prayas Dansana, Assistant Professor in the Department of Law was appointed as the Officer in charge of the cell. The main motto to create this cell was to coordinate among different sections/units while dealing with cases of Supreme Court, High Court and other lower Courts and to safeguard the interest of the University by properly representing the stand of the University. Receipt of Court Notices, engagement of Lawyers and transmitting of Courts' order to concerned sections are the main duties of the Cell. Apart from above, at times, the cell provides legal views to the Authority of the University obtained from Lawyers and helps to prepare legal documents like MOUs and agreements.
